WHO WE ARE
WADDAN – Partner in Development
WADDAN is a registered civil society organization committed to upholding human dignity, humanity, impartiality, neutrality, and independence. Founded in 2004, it obtained official registration under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 on July 21, 2006, and is also registered with the Charity Commission of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.
WADDAN has been granted “Allowed to Work” status by the Ministry of SAFRON, enabling us to implement development, relief, and emergency response programs across Pakistan. Guided by a general body and executive body, we collaborate closely with community organizations, government departments, and national and international development partners to ensure effective humanitarian, rights-based, and development impact.
Target Sectors
WADDAN works across key sectors to promote sustainable development, human rights, humanitarian principles, and community well-being. In education, we support inclusive and equitable learning opportunities for all ages, strengthening access, quality, and lifelong learning. In health, we improve access to essential services and raise awareness on preventive, maternal and child, mental, and community health, contributing to healthier and more resilient communities.
Through human and institutional development, we strengthen local capacities, governance systems, and community structures while promoting the protection, realization, and fulfillment of human rights. Our livelihood programs enhance economic opportunities, income generation, and resilience for vulnerable populations. Climate and environmental initiatives focus on sustainability, adaptation, and responsible resource management. We also improve infrastructure and essential services to ensure safe, dignified, and sustainable living conditions.
Women’s empowerment remains central to our mission, advancing gender equality, human rights, and meaningful participation in social, economic, and decision-making processes. WADDAN engages in evidence-based advocacy and research, youth development through sports and tourism, civic engagement, digital literacy, leadership building, and entrepreneurship and livelihood skills development.
We also implement disaster risk reduction and management (DRR/DRM), humanitarian assistance, and emergency relief interventions to support communities affected by natural disasters, conflicts, and crises, strengthening immediate response mechanisms while building long-term resilience and recovery pathways.
